The technology of video emerged in the 1950s when even large networks like CBS (Columbia Broadcasting System) used VTR (video tape recorders) to broadcast the news. With the ever-growing demand of television, the 1980s took video to its first to be used power while in the comfort of your own home and in a form of video called VHS, video home system. During the 1980s, video evolved into laserdisc form you where you could not only fast forward and rewind, but advance by chapters and view bonus scenes from movies as an added feature and fast forward to the present time and now we have the pleasure of watching videos (digital recordings) in the palm of our own hands through portable devices. Cisco’s Annual Internet Report forecasted that by this year, 2020, about 80% of the internet’s traffic would be video. Low and behold, we have online videos going viral by the second. Today’s form of video has quickly replaced age-old television. We now have streaming devices such as Netflix, Crave and YouTube making its daily presence in social media and at your convenience. Smart technology records our daily screen usage and with smartphones making tools for video creation and consumption available for almost everyone.
